The Reboot Mania

“Game of Thrones”, “The Walking Dead”, “The  Big Bang Theory”. These are just a few of the major TV hits that have been produced in the last decade. Despite the excellent quality of today’s TV Series, some of us really can’t let go of old shows we grew up with in the late 90’s, early 2000’s. In fact, television is going through a proper reboot/revival era with the production of several prequels, spin-offs and sequels.

The greatest revival of 2016 was without a doubt Gilmore Girls: A Year in The Life“. Public opinion was rather split in half after the four new episodes aired: some people thought they weren’t just as good as the original seasons while others, as myself, perceived the four hours special as the right way to show how the characters’ lives changed during these years.

Lately, there have been a lot of rumours going around about many series that might come back to the little screen with new episodes in the next months or years. It has already been confirmed that The CW is been working on a prequel of  Charmed(1998-2006). The network has already ordered a script in which three new witches will try to defeat demons and evil warlocks in the 1970’s.

FOX, as part of this TV’s revival trend, is bringing back “Prison Break” with ten new episodes that will take place a few years after the end of the show. Both stars Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell are set to come back as lead characters.

Other TV cults that we are going to see again soon are: “Will and Grace”, “Twin Peaks”, “Star Trek”, and hopefully “Veronica Mars”.
